ABOUT

After graduating Syracuse University with a BFA in design, Cindy Searight quickly rose to the top ranks of publishing in New York City. At age 30 she was appointed Creative Director of Condé Nast’s Mademoiselle fashion magazine. Her 25+ year career in the industry culminated at Hearst publishing from 2014 - 2018 as Creative Director of HGTV magazine, where she directed the styling and photography of hundreds of home interiors, including the private residences of Fixer Upper's Chip & Joanna Gaines and Property Brothers Drew Scott.

Always passionate about design, architecture and houses, Cindy earned her first CT real estate license at age 19 (her father owned a brokerage) and returned to the industry post-magazines, seeking a more locally-based second career. She launched Searight Creative LLC in 2021 to provide home staging and design services for not only her own real estate listings, but also homeowner clients seeking help pulling together the look of their new homes.

Whether it’s problem-solving the best furniture layout, or offering fresh, inviting room designs that’ll hold up to real life, clients appreciate Cindy’s guidance and collaborative, practical approach to creating inviting spaces that homeowners can really live in! There are three types of clients Cindy works with:

  1. Homeowners thinking of selling (eventually) who want advice on renovation tweaks (repairs, paint colors, furniture layout) to make pre-market to optimize their home’s sale price in the future.

  2. Homeowners feeling overwhelmed or anxious about decorating decisions who want a professional to offer solutions. Clients also benefit from Cindy’s trade discounts on furniture, rugs, accessories and lighting.

  3. Listing Clients who are actively prepping to go on the market. Through staging Cindy creates the ultimate buyer experience to reach the highest sale price the market will bear.

“I believe in the right house at the right stage in one’s life, and I help my clients buy and sell real estate to achieve that goal. Once settled in, I can offer design solutions that are highly-functional, very comfortable and super-stylish. That’s my trifecta!” – Cindy Searight
